Welcome to the Unofficial East St. Louis Action Research Project Homepage!!
ESLARP, the East St. Louis Action Research Project, at the University of Illinois is an exciting new program which started in 1992. This program has done many great things for the city of East St. Louis since that time. The Farmer's Market (located at ) was designed by both architecture and landscape architecture students from the University of Illinois and was built by UofI students as well as concerned citizens of East St. Louis. The Farmer's Market (which opened in 1994) was intended to allow the citizens of East St. Louis to sell produce which they grew in their gardens, as well as create social bonds and income opportunity within the community.
